Here's a fun fact to remember on your next night out on the town: it has been proven that loud music increases the speed of drinking and the amount of alcohol intake. What? You don't think it's a real fact? Well, we can't hear you over the loud music! #cjcagency
In 1879, a ship called the Ravenscrag landed on the island of Hawaii with 3 Portuguese furniture makers who would go on to build the first ukulele based on 2 existing instruments, the machete for size, and the rajao for tuning. Built using the native koa wood, an integral part of Hawaiian identity, the new instrument very quickly became embedded in Hawaiian culture. An excellent instrument to start on with a gentle happy sound, we think everyone should play the uke. Aloha! #cjcagency

How important are"feel", "soul" and similar elusive concepts in music? The entire genre of Blues is based on the very same I-IV-V pattern. If it wasn't for feel, soul, and the artist's unique expressions, all blues songs would sound the same! Here's one of our favourite blues with a twist to come out of the region. #cjcagency

Spotify has finally launched in the MENA region and we’re sure a lot of you can’t get enough of it. Duke Ellington had once planned a concert in Egypt, but we’re still cooling our heels. In 1963, Ellington embarked on a tour that included Syria, Jordan, Jerusalem, Beirut, Afghanistan, India, Ceylon, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Turkey, Cyrus, Greece and Egypt. But due to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the tour was abandoned. We're in a sentimental mood. #cjcagency
