Unfortunately, Christmas pints in The Thatch isn't going to happen this year. 😢😢
As you all know we are a Traditional Pub that doesn't serve food and must remain closed this Christmas in accordance with Government restrictions.
We would like to wish the very best of luck to all our neighbouring businesses reopening this week especially our friends in the hospitality trade.
Thanks to everyone for your messages of support over the last 9 months, it really means a lot.
Looking forward to getting back to some sort of normal in 2021 so until then stay safe, look after yourselves and have a great Christmas and New Year.
We are absolutely gutted to be writing this post. 190 days closed 15 days open and now here we go again closing the doors of The Thatch once more tonight.
We have put in a real and genuine effort to make The Thatch a safe environment for our staff and customers and will do so again when we reopen.
I want to thank our fantastic team of staff who have worked tirelessly over the past 2 weeks implementing the protocols and procedures to make The Thatch a safe place for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks to all of you our customers who have come through the door and supported us since reopening.
Fingers crossed its only a 3 week shut down so stay safe everyone and see you all again soon.
🔆 SAFETY CHARTER 🔆
Thank you to everyone who has supported us this week. It’s great to be back open again.
We are delighted to tell you all that we have received the Fáilte Ireland Safety Charter.
Ensuring we have adopted the best COVID-19 practices in safety and cleaning standards in the hospitality industry, in addition to our own policies and procedures.
All our staff have also completed COVID-19 training courses.
The wait is FINALLY over, The Thatch will reopen on Monday 21st September at 4pm 🍾🍺🍹
Rest assured we are implementing all the relevant Government guidelines for the safety of our customers and all the team and have been awarded the Failte Ireland Covid-19 Safety Charter.
We have been busy behind the scenes and the place will look a bit different to before.
We are very restricted in the number of people we can seat in the bar and lounge but have lots of seating in the Beer Garden. We hope you will be patient with us as we implement these new ways of doing business.
Our new opening hours are Monday to Thursday 4 – 11.30 and Friday to Sunday 2 – 11.30
We will operate on a walk in basis only
Thank you to everyone for all your lovely messages and well wishes since March, we are so looking forward to seeing you all back in The Thatch.
Well folks it was not the news we were expecting this evening, looks like it will be another 3 weeks before we can open our doors. Until then we will all have to do our bit to stop the spread of this virus and to stop the numbers going up. Stay safe everyone and we will see you on August 10th.
