The 1st rooftop Reggae bar in Phnom Penh on 2 levels THE TERACE rooftop on 7th floor has international DJ's Thursdays to Saturdays.
Reggae music is a genre that was developed in the late 60's in Jamaica. The word Reggae properly denotes a particular music style that originated during the development of Ska and Rocksteady. Its based on a rhythmic style characterized by regular beats on the off beat known as Skank. It is normally slower than Ska. It also has accents on the first and third beat in each bar. To understand Reggae, one has to look at subjects and lyrics which range from: Religion, love, sexuality, relationships, peace, wars, poverty, social and political issues, injustices etc. As a musical term, Reggae first appeared in print in 1968 with the rocksteady hit 'Do the Reggay' by the Meytals but it was already in Kingston. In the beginning the target Reggae audience was poor working Jamaicans. However, the genre has ended up being listened to in almost every country in the world containing a variety of different people from different backgrounds, age and race. You do not have to be a Rasta to listen to Reggae. Before those who listened to Reggae were generally thought to be Rastatafarians or Jamaicans. Today a lot of people view Reggae as music which brings peace, calm and love. Slowly, the Reggae Music scene is creeping into Cambodia and hopefully all the Reggae music fans can carry the flag and grow the seeds that have already been planted. One Love. Eric Amtalla.

We came . we saw, we partied and we raised around $1000 for our friends at Develop Boeung Kak ART - helping those people who are not as lucky as we are
Ok, so like the Oscars, there is a big list of people to thank - it takes a lot of people to do something like this!
- The organisers, Lhoyd and Jess at Phnom Penh Underground and Marj and Ludi of Develop Boeung Kak ART. We did it guys - a lot of hard work, money spent and stress but we made an amazing party!
- Chris Alexander and team at Cambodia Beer for their amazingly generous sponsorship to make our dream come alive and personal hard work beyond the call of duty - we couldn't have done it without you.
- Pidou and team of Cellop ASIA for providing us with a kickass soundsysyem and lighting rig. These guys are amazing - we totally recommend them!
- Our DJs - DJ Sequence, Dr Wah-Wah, DJ Alan Ritchie. Dj Donabelle, Lefty Stryker, NORA HAIDEE, Neil Warrington, Bojan Lisac, Dj bree, Martin Warlich and Sushii Firas for playing some amazing music!
- The residents of Boeung Kak for hosting us - thank you!
- VJ Stijn Deprez of Jokjok & Fako for his amazing visuals
- The crew at Artventure Time ( Sushii Firas / Shammi Raj Balla / Syahrulfikri Razin Salleh) for their fantastic site decorations

- Inala Inala and Dustin Kerschtien - your photos going up soon!
- All of the volunteers who gave up there time to make this so special!
And as always - YOU! For dancing and smiling and laughing and loving and making the night so special
We didn't do this party for fame or fortune - we did it to make people happy and to help out people who deserve help - the next generation of young Cambodians. If you enjoyed the night, please consider donating to one of the many grassroots organisations that try and make peoples life better in this country.
