Our friend Jeremiah Sundown was kind enough to take a little trip around Nashville and take some video of his personal heroes of the musical world. As we remember those in our armed forces who have passed and all those that have touched your life please remember that our great country was earned by sacrifice. Thanks for watching! Happy Memorial Day.
Our friend Lawrence J Diggs from the Aberdeen art group (and lots of other great things) hosts a great little time for poetry. Enjoy life. Live in art!!
Poets gathered in the Electronic Poetry Garden to share poetry. We meet Every Thursday night at 8PM CST. Join us and bring your poetry. To get an invitation ...
Some great things are happening with music.
Social distancing is a necessary evil in Covid world. Watching "Mother" reminds me just how irreplaceable the joy of being in a band is.
We hear that there is a socially distant version of the Tuesday Jam session....maybe we can get some film.
Time for some more music. Discover some new performances! Thanks Tony Ford for giving us some great sounds. Heartland Casino is your best bet for entertainment!
This is Part Four of the 6th "Closed Mic," 5-6-2020 Live from The Love Dungeon. Hosted by Jefferson Jay

from all the folks at Heartland Casino!!!
Stay safe and we will see you
Unfortunately the Aberdeen City counsel was unable to do the responsible thing Wednesday night and close all bars, restaurants, casinos and other entertainment venues thanks in part to the inexplicable actions of 2 of our state representatives.
Action was expected at a Monday meeting, but was deferred in light of expected discussion of Senate Bill 191 by the South Dakota Legislature. It would have given cities and counties the authority to approve an emergency ordinance in one motion instead of two with five days between hearings as now required by state law.
Councilman Dave Bunsness noted his frustration with the Legislature and two local lawmakers — Rep. Drew Dennert, R-Aberdeen, and Rep. Kaleb Weis, R-Aberdeen — who voted against SB 191.
“It’s inconceivable that you would vote against that,” Bunsness said. “We need local control so we can vote on this immediately.” (above statements and comment from the American News 4/02/20)
The health and safety of our staff, their family's and that of our guests is important to us.
In light of the city's inability to act until next week we decided to voluntary close the Heartland and Lafayette casinos Thursday night. Its the prudent thing to do. Its the right thing to do. Its the responsible thing to do.
The actions of our state leaders remind me of someone letting a small kitchen fire in their home continue to burn in order to see if it's going to spread instead of immediately acting to put it out.
I urge Governor Noem to LEAD and issue a state wide shelter in place order as most other states have already done.
I urge my fellow bar and casino owners be responsible... do whats best for the safety of their staff and guests and close as well. We should have closed weeks ago and I applaud the bars that did so.
The sooner we act the sooner we can get back to business as usual.
When this is over and we can safely reopen we will hold a huge free concert featuring the King Bees.
They don't know that yet so don't tell them. It's a surprise!!
Stay at home, stay healthy! See you on the other side!!
Those of you interested in the night position please stop in the casino and fill out an application. The next couple weeks are sort of up in the air so we will not be hiring during this pandemic but as soon as we are given the OK to return to normal operations we will be interviewing. Thanks. Stay safe out there!!
The world has become a crazy place. We are doing the best we can to follow CDC guidelines concerning social distancing and sanitizing all surfaces constantly. We have moved our machines around or turned off machines to insure that people are sitting at least 6 feet apart. We will also start closing at midnight to allow cleaning crews to come in and work overnight sanitizing everything in the casino. The best advice I can give you is to just stay home until this crises has passed!!! Just please come back again some day!!! :)
Stay safe out there!!!
