The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce they have hired a new Executive Director, Vickie Horne.

Vickie will begin her new role on June 24, 2019 following Michael Bennett, who served as the chamber’s Executive Director for the past 3 years. He had announced his plan to retire at the end of last year.

Vickie is a native of Aberdeen, having lived and worked in the City over 55 years. Most recently, she worked for Pier 1 Imports in Bel Air where she earned Sales Associate of the Quarter two quarters in a row and Sales Leader of the Quarter for the region. Prior to that, Vickie worked for Aberdeen Middle School, the City of Aberdeen for 15 years and for her husband’s concrete business located in Aberdeen.

“I want to thank the Chamber’s Board of Directors for their vote of confidence and enthusiasm as I transition to the Executive Director role at the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce. I am very excited to work with the Chamber as we determine our future while still focused on a
comprehensive and vibrant membership program.”

Vickie also serves on the Board of the Welcome One Homeless Shelter in Belcamp, Maryland. Most recently, she assumed the secretary position on the Shelter Board.
