Chicha- Peruvian Kitchen & Pisco Bar- innovation, tradition and fusion of the Peruvian Cuisine using the best local and seasonal ingredients
Peruvian cuisine draws from an ancient cultural history of trade and native tradition based on ingredients and customs spanning vastly contrasting geographical zones - the Pacific Coast, the Andes Mountains, and the Amazon Jungle. Marked by a variety, complexity, and sophistication of its dishes dating back to the Spanish conquest of Peru during the early 16th century, Peruvian cuisine is one of the world's original fusion cuisines, combining Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, African, Italian, and French cuisine with native Inca culinary traditions. It is our goal at Chicha to bring a taste of authentic Peruvian cuisine to our beautiful city of Alameda. You no longer have to leave the country, or even leave Alameda for that matter, to experience the richness of a unique gastronomic experience that can only be captured by an authentic Peruvian restaurant.
Thank you Chicha Fans- this is one of the latest reviews...

Oh and Pisco. Every cocktail you've ever heard of, reimagined and available with Pisco. That could be a whole second post. But for now, I'll leave it at "2 for the price of one, every weeknight". Bam

All week long, Chicha is featuring the greatest wines from Peru.
The wine grape varieties used in Peruvian winemaking are, as might be expected, those which are well adapted to warm-climate viticulture. Grenache, the grape behind the high-alcohol wines of the southern Rhone Valley, is an obvious candidate, as is red-fleshed Alicante Bouschet, a crossing of Grenache and Petit Bouschet. The ubiquitous Cabernet Sauvignon is increasingly popular here, as is its Bordeaux stablemate Malbec, which has proved so successful in Argentina. Light-skinned Torrontes, another Argentinean success story, heads up the white-wine varieties in Peru, under the local name Torontel. It is joined by Sauvignon Blanc and various forms of Muscat, famously capable of thriving in warm climates.
