VFW Post 584

Comments

FYI... the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has just released some good news regarding the stimulus checks: Recipients of benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs will now automatically receive payments. That means if you have not filed taxes recently, but you do receive VA benefits, you will receive your payment in the same form as your benefits (check or direct deposit), with no further action needed on your part.
...seeking purpose for the good of our children...💜
Thank you.
So when the post is open to the public there is no record of anything....maybe all should be signed in if not a member?????....

Tim from @recretec_manufacturing hit us up about helping him in the process of providing masks to first responders and hospitals. What this shutdown has proven is our FRs, Nurses, Doctors, military, those in a position of service are our heroes. We support you. Thank you Tim for what you do and for asking us to join. We have plenty to go around so hit us up.

Here’s a few updates!

The amount of effort we have seen from our members in this remodel project is outstanding. Practicing social distancing at the same time of course 😉. The bar is looking top!

New Ice Bin came yesterday that Pepsi installed and a complete overhaul of the soda lines and all new beer keg taps, lines, and fountains! With the majority of this project donated between time and materials it never fails to surprise us the generosity and motivation of our community. Thank you all and keep up the good work. Be safe. Be well!

[03/19/20]   No meetings tonight

[03/17/20]   Please pass this word on.

We understand this outbreak has shut down more than just bars and restaurants. It has spread to cancelling non essential appointments for our veterans.

Therefore, in this, we would like to extend to anyone willing to assist veterans and families in need whether it be shopping, basic medical cares, (dressing first aid etc), and anything we can assist with.

We will dispatch volunteers when needed throughout our community!

Call List to get assistance:

Commander Michael Aaron 5419053138
Senior Vice Mark Lamberty 2088990042
House Chair Zach Draper 9124321769

[03/16/20]   Ladies and Gentlemen,

The recently imposed regulations states that all bars and restaurants are shut down to take out and delivery. That being said VFW Post 584 will shut down all bar and restaurant operations in order to comply and minimize the impact of this situation. Stay tuned as we will have more information on how we are going to care for our members! Thank you all!

[03/16/20]   Unfortunately, the committee running the Vietnam Veterans Memorial dinner is cancelling this event.

The reason being is that we have Vietnam Vets in a lot of retirement and assisted living communities that will not be able to attend due to restrictions. Lebanon Vet Home included.

REST ASSURED, WE WILL RESCHEDULE THIS EVENT AND WE WILL HONOR THOSE WHO SERVED AND SACRIFICED FOR OUR NATION IN THE VIETNAM WAR. WELCOME HOME AND STAND BY FOR THE NEW EVENT!

Thank you to all who came out to christen our new dart room for this up coming season! It was a blast and we may have broken a record sales for one day! All this money supports the post and the programs the VFW and LINK UP VETS run for our local Veterans and community! Thank you all! OOHRAH HOOAH HOORAH SEMPER FI!

[03/13/20]   Ladies and Gentlemen,

Post 584 remains open at this time and at full operation. However, outside ran activities have cancelled their times.

As of now....

Texas Hold em Poker 3/21 Cancelled

TO BE CLEAR WE AT 584 HAVE NOT MADE CANCELLATIONS HERE. THIS HAS COME FROM THOSE THAT RUN THESE PROGRAMS. THANK YOU.

We got the dart boards moved tonight into the new game room. Lots of volunteers for trim work, flooring, and electrical.
Tomorrow night we finish flooring, lights, and paint the trim.
Great stuff! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

We had a great turnout tonight to help with trim, flooring, electrical outlets, and moving the dart boards into the new game room.
Tomorrow night we finish the flooring, baseboards, and get the lights installed. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

The game room is getting the floor down. So excited for our new game room.

2/13/2020 - I know he’s going to hate this post, but again we have to say a huge huge huge Thank You to Scotty of Hammerquist Inc and his crew. Over the past 2 months we have sought help with fixing our refrigeration issues and they answered the call. They saved us upwards near $10,000 dollars in all the donated parts and labor to get our kitchen running right! We issued them a Certificate of Appreciation from the Veterans of Foreign War and a signature Hoodie from LINK UP VETS. Absolute minimum we could possibly do to thank these fine people!
