Our tasting panel is my pride and joy. Together, they have years of wine knowledge, experience, and sommelier certification. Once they approve the wines, I have to like the label and price. Only the very best wines for the money make it on our shelves. That’s how we discovered gems like Austin Hope before the big scores came out. AUSTIN HOPE TASTING
SATURDAY MARCH 2nd
We saved the best for last in the Paso Robles Series! Our favorite winemaker is Austin Hope and our top selling wine is his Austin Hope Cabernet. Austin's father, Chuck, is one of the pioneers of grape-farming in Paso Robles. He literally drew the map for Paso Robles and was one of a few who got the AVA Designation for Paso Robles.
Austin Hope has helped to push Paso Robles to new heights. He was trained in the farm by his father and was a protege of legendary winemaker, Chuck Wagner. Last year, he achieved the highest score yet for a Paso Cabernet, 97 points from Wine Enthusiast. Ever so humble, he is one of a handful of Paso winemakers who have made it their life-long mission to develop Cabernets that compete with the finest in the world. We believe this is only the beginning, with much more to come. #austinhope #pasorobles #ocwinemart
It’s getting real! The merchandise is in. Our retail floor will open tomorrow, followed by Deli and Wine Bar next week. #softopening #makethebrickyardgrapeagain #ocwm3 #teamwork

DAOU TASTING - FEBRUARY 23 6pm
Daou is the story of two young brothers growing up in Lebanon, escaping the Civil War and through many trials and setbacks, finally made themselves into successful heads of a tech company. At the height of their careers, they decided to follow their dreams of opening a winery and founded Daou Vineyards. Like they say, it takes a large fortune to make a small one in the wine business!
Georges Daou is the creative visionary behind this enterprise and he oversees the operation. Daniel Daou is the winemaker who has tasked himself with making a Cabernet that rivals the best in the world.
Their Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Blends offer a full-bodied, yet never over-the-top, wine with excellent structure. They are known for the great purity of fruit that is brought to the foreground, like a velvet glove giving you a hearty handshake. For all the power and structure these wines give you, you will also get this beautiful, smooth elegance that glides down the throat. This is a winery that is firing on all cylinders in the process of elevating Paso Robles to new heights. Next time you're up in Paso, this is definitely our favorite spot to enjoy a gourmet cheese platter and enjoy the magnificent views!
VALENTINES DAY JUSTIN VINEYARDS WINE TASTING! 🍷 🍇
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 16th 2019
Justin Vineyards was among the first wineries to open up in Paso Robles. Justin & Deborah Baldwin acquired their land in 1981 and planted 72 acres that year. Initially they were wine growers, selling to other wineries. In 1987 Justin released a "Left Bank" style of Bordeaux of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It was later renamed Isosceles and it would become their flagship wine and the benchmark for Paso Robles red blends. We call it the "Ultimate Steak Wine".
Justification, a Cab Franc and Merlot blend, was inspired by the celebrated "Right Bank" of France. Vibrant ruby in color with complex notes of ripe fruit, anise, and vanilla, Justification is delightful now and will age beautifully in your cellar.
The Isosceles and Justification are both great examples of Old World style blends meet New World wine making. Their Cabernet, Rose, and Sauvignon Blanc are great daily-drinkers at affordable pric
Made our first sale today while still setting up shop. Of course it was a case of Austin Hope Cabernet!🍷We are working hard to have our soft opening within a week or two.

ALISO VIEJO - PINOT UNDER $30
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 2nd 2019
For the last of the Thin Wallet Series, we explore Pinot Noir, one of the most finicky grapes to grow anywhere. Some of the most expensive wines in the world is Pinot Noir, also known as Burgundy (after the wine region in France). It was made popular by the movie "Sideways", which literally killed the Merlot industry overnight.
Although Pinot noir is not an easy grape to grow, it has found a good home in California and in Oregon. Our New World wines tend to be slightly rounder, more full-bodied, fruitier and doesn't require aging due to the ripeness of the grapes. Oregon Pinot tends to be slightly more acidic, lighter, and earthier. Find out which style you like better!
ALISO VIEJO - SATURDAY January 26
THIN WALLET SERIES RED BLENDS UNDER $30 - $20 per
For the month of January, we are presenting our Thin Wallet Series Tastings. This week, we are exploring Red Blends, which allow the winemaker the most room for creativity. Some pay tribute to the classical Bordeaux, some are California Reds with a fruit-forward style, while some are what we call a "Kitchen Sink Blend", a style made popular by the Prisoner Red. We think you will enjoy our top value Red Blends we’ve picked out for you and your wallet will too! #redblends #ocwinemart #thinwalletseries
Many of you have been asking about when our Orange location will be opened. We've overcome many obstacles, including liquor licensing, parking issues, conditional use permit with the City Council, Health, Police and Fire departments, and finally the Building and Planning departments of Orange. We're still fighting to get updated signage instead of the 30 year old canned lights. We hope to get our final approval next week, if all goes well with the inspections.
We've begun the hiring process for all positions including cashier, deli, wine & beer staff, as well as shift managers. If you're interested or know anyone who may be interested in joining our family, please email your resume to [email protected].
We anticipate to open by Valentine's Day in February. You will be the first to know about our Soft Opening. Thank you so much for your patience and moral support!

ALISO VIEJO - SATURDAY JANUARY 19 2018
Happy New Year! For the month of January, we shall be presenting our Thin Wallet Series Tastings. This week we explore Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the most planted grapes in the world and by far, our most popular varietal.
There are many different styles of Cabernet Sauvignon, from big, bold, fruit-driven Cabs of Paso Robles and Lodi, to the more restrained and balanced Cabernet from Napa Valley and Washington. We've handpicked the following Cabernets from different regions and styles. One thing they do have in common is that they are great Bang for the Buck!
We will be tasting these 6 Best Value Cabs from around the country:

-Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)
-Treana Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles)
-Sempre Vive Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)
-Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon (Lodi)
-Intrinsic Cabernet Sauvignon(Washington)
Happy New Year from our family to yours!♥️🎉🤗
Ring in the New Years right with Veuve Clicquot!!🍾🎆🥂🎉
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!💖🎄💙🎁😘💙
Another eventful year has passed and we had another fantastic holiday season. Our bestselling wine this year was the Austin Hope Cabernet from Paso Robles, our "Baby Caymus". Thank all of you for making our little shop their top account in California after selling almost 500 cases this year!
We tried our best to open the Orange location this holiday but unfortunately, we could not make it. We jumped through many hoops already, including the ABC Liquor License, City of Orange Conditional Use Permit, Health Department, Fire and Police inspections. We did not pass the Building and Planning Inspection, but are working on it now. We are hoping to have our Soft Opening on February 1st, 2019.
We are ready for a relaxing Christmas Break after all the holiday madness. We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support!

ALISO VIEJO - SATURDAY DEC. 22
Far Niente is a beautiful old winery built in 1885 by John Benson, a forty-niner from the Gold Rush and the Uncle of famous American Painter, Winslow Homer. The winery flourished for many years until the Prohibition in 1919, when the winery was abandoned. 60 years later, Gil Nickel bought the winery and after a 3 year restoration, reopened the winery under its original name Far Niente, Italian for ”without a care”. Nickel and Nickel, started in 1997, is devoted to single vineyard wines, the core being Cabernet Sauvignon. En Route was established in 2007, a culmination of an almost 30 year passion for Pinot Noir by the owners of Far Niente. Their goal is to make the best Pinot from Russian River fruit. #nickelnickel #farniente #enroute #wine #ocwinemart

JUSTIN JUSTIFICATION MAGNUMS on sale at both stores!🍷🍷
The 2013 Justification is a beautiful wine, a blend of 58% Cabernet Franc and 42% Merlot. The wine is very dark with intoxicating aromas from the glass. There is ripe cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry, with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. On the tongue, the wine opens up and reveals ripe red fruit, mostly cherries and cassis, with bits of plum, baking spices. Some dustiness along with savory mint and eucalyptus notes lead to a long finish.

“Make the Brickyard Grape Again!”🍷🍇We tried our best to open for the holidays but ran into permitting issues. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we needed to focus on our existing stores this season. We plan to open in January 2019. Thank you for all your patience and support! CAYMUS & WAGNER FAMILY WINE TASTING
SATURDAY - DECEMBER 15th
The Wagner family is the royalty of Napa Valley and for a good reason. It has been over 45 years since Charlie Wagner, along with wife Lorna and son Chuck founded Caymus Vineyards. Together they have built one of the most iconic winery in the New World. The Wagner family's history in Napa Valley spans back to the 1850s and they have made it their mission to use the best practices and best grapes to make the best wine. They always refer to themselves as farmers, and they are farmers of the highest order.
Napa Valley soil runs deep in the veins of the Wagner Family. Chuck’s eldest son Charlie is the winemaker for Mer Soleil, Conundrum, and also his latest project, Red Schooner - a dark, rich, Malbec made in the Caymus style. Daughter Jenny is the winemaker at Emmolo, making a Sauvignon Blanc and an opulent Merlot. Youngest son Joe Wagner sold the Meiomi brand and branched off to open his own winery, Copper Cane, featuring best-sellers such as Quilt Cabernet and Belle Glos Pinot Noir.

Grgich Hills Wine Tastings
ALISO VIEJO - December 8th 2018
Grgich Hills is one of the few Napa Valley wineries that practices organic and biodynamic farming. They make their own compost and place bird houses of different sizes to control the vineyard pests. When we visited the winery earlier this year, we were privileged to have breakfast with winemaker Ivo and the chickens in the Vineyard!
Miljenko "Mike" Grgich is our favorite American Dream story. He was born to a poor wine-making family in Croatia in 1923. He herded sheep as a child, studied agricultural science in University of Zagreb, and fled communist Yugoslavia to West Germany, then to Canada. In 1958, he arrived in Napa Valley on a Greyhound bus with a cardboard suitcase with his wine books and his life savings of $32 sewn to the sole of his shoe.
Mike first gained fame as the winemaker of the Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that won the 1973 “Paris Tasting” as the best Chardonnay in the World! This outcome stunned the Wine World, put Napa Valley on the map, and catapulted Mike to one of the world’s best winemakers. The movie "Bottle Shock" talks about this historical event.
