The second most asked question by visitors, “When will you open?” being the first, is “What do you mean by tasting room...is it a bar?” While technically, White Oak Wine Cafe is a bar, the atmosphere itself was inspired by my many years in the culinary field. My interpretation of tasting room means, a place to explore with all your senses. This allows for real appreciation and enjoyment of whatever delight you may have in front of you. Whether it be wine, beer, food, art, gardens, (you get the picture) when we are made to still ourselves and consider all that goes into such a creation we experience a different kind of enjoyment.
I hope when visiting us, you will feel as if you are in a learning environment that also includes many of the comforts of home. We encourage curiosity, relaxing and a sense of belonging. No snobbery, just an open mind and palate... Oh Yeah, don’t forget your ID.
Enjoy the holiday!
The song “Merrily We Roll Along” has been lodged in my brain all this week as the electrician, plumbers and countless delivery drivers collected my signature. Well...it’s true, we are really rolling in the direction of opening soon.
I’ve gone over my wine list multiple times and have selected 48 producers with more to be added. (Moderation is a problem for me) In this case though, I’m ok with that. My hope is to bring you the opportunity to taste, explore and learn about the wine you are drinking.
White Oak Wine Cafe will offer a tasting room style cafe as well as a sweet, romantic garden area. Both seating areas will allow you to relax and absorb all that is good!
Lots of new info to come, so stay tuned and as always...Cheers!
“If your dreams do not scare you, they aren’t big enough”

This is the quote I shared with a couple young members of our family just as they were starting to reach for their dreams. It’s also the one that started the wheels in my own head. At age 48 and after a 2 year self-study it was decided I would attempt to become a wine Sommelier. (suh-mel-YAY) do your best, we’re not judging. I also attended a 12 week study program and continue to be a student of wine everyday.
My dream was to open a small place to serve and teach others about wine. The truth is, I love watching people celebrate and enjoy life and I can’t think of a better way to do that than to offer a space to sip wine, eat flavorful food, surrounded by local artist and their beautiful creations.
Cheers to another great week! I can’t wait to open my doors to you Auburn
What a productive week we had at White Oak Wine Cafe. My check list is getting shorter and things are falling into place. Most importantly though, I want to say thank you to the wonderful Auburn community. I love people stopping in to check things out and introducing themselves. I’ve had some wonderful chats this week and really enjoy hearing your Auburn stories. I’m always open to your ideas and please let me know what your favorite wines are. I’ll do my best to carry what you like.
Introducing Auburn’s newest place to relax and enjoy the downtown.
After hosting a few tastings and finding the perfect location in the Auburn Atrium Marketplace I am finally ready to continue moving forward with our very own wine bar here in Auburn. We hope to have the doors open by the end of this summer. Yay!
Everyone has been so kind, helpful and encouraging. This is how I know this is the place to be. What a wonderful community we have!
Please follow and share,White Oak Wine Cafe, as we press forward with our wine adventures. I’m so excited for the opportunity to serve you all!
