There are 6 seats left for Andy Willis' recital October 14th - I can't emphasize enough how wonderful a player he is, and what a cool opportunity it will be to hear the beautiful 1822 Walter piano - Mozart and Beethoven's favorite piano builder - in a cozy home setting. There will be wine afterwards. Drop me an email at [email protected], or call me at 510 290 1670 for seats.

This promises to be a very special event; Andy is a fantastic pianist with a marvelous touch and understanding of this music, and he'll be playing on the 1822 Anton Walter und Sohn piano, a marvelous instrument.
[08/25/15] October 24th, 2015 6:00 pm, Andrew Willis will play Beethoven's Sonata opus 109, along with some Schubert, Field and Mendelssohn, on the 1822 Walter und Sohn fortepiano. Andrew is a wonderful pianist, one of the Bilson circle that recorded a groundbreaking complete Beethoven sonata set on period instruments; among others he played the opus 106 "Hammerklavier" which was regarded as one of the finest recorded performances of the work, either on period or modern piano.
[08/25/15] We're launching Berkeley Baroque, a house concert series that will feature mostly baroque music, mostly showcasing a variety of fine and unusual keyboard instruments - harpsichords, fortepiano, virginals, even a lute-harpsichord. Our plan is to announce concerts about four to six weeks in advance, and ask for RSVP and donations for the artist(s). Our intimate setting allows people to hear music in a small scaled and informal setting, closer to how music was probably experienced in the days before the concert hall.
