We don't usually make political posts around here...but in light of recent, shall we say, blunders? (that may or may not rhyme with 'hump') we thought we'd just leave this here to remind everyone of the dangers of PRIDEful leaders in government. Bad things happen when the people are not watchful. That being said, we encourage you...in a world full of Homunculi, be an Elric or a Rockbell. Or a Mustang. But let's face it no one is on that level. RIP Lust.

If there are any Boston gamers out there who have childhood roots in the Final Fantasy franchise, you may be interested in this little mobile gem from Cygames in Japan, a mobile platform developer under Mobage.

With over 10 million downloads, Granblue Fantasy features two key staff from the development of Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy IX, musical composer Nobuo Uematsu and character designer Hideo Minaba, making it a huge fan favorite. Returning to turn-based combat, the game has received serious critical acclaim, and features familiar classes, items, and gameplay, while offering a unique free-to-play model with optional paid elements (such as rolling for items.)

Although the game recently added an English patch, it is not available in US mobile app stores. But fear not! We at Portal have done some work-around magic and will share with you our secrets!

If you're playing on Android:
Step 1) 1. Download and Install QooApp.

Step 2) Find Granblue Fantasy and download.
Step 3) Open the game, click on the blue 'Start' button (in Japanese by default), then in the next screen, change language option to English!

If you're playing on an iOS device, it gets a little more complicated:
Step 1) Open iTunes and sign out if you are currently signed in, scroll to the bottom, and change the bottom right flag icon to Japan.
Step 2) Search for Granblue Fantasy and click 'Get', after which you will be prompted to create an AppleID.
Step 2) Create a new AppleID using a fresh email account (if you are using Gmail, you can use your same email, but add '+anything', i.e. [email protected] and portalgamebar+[email protected]). Gmail will recognize it as the exact same email address and will send all mail to the original account, but Apple will register it as a new email.
Step 3) When filling in account info, use anything for phonetics, but we used "ポータル", so feel free to do the same. The address can also be anything, but we used Tokyo, then Chiyoda, Chiyoda-ku, and postal code 100-0001.
Step 4) On your iOS device, go to Settings -> iTunes & App Store. Click on your username and sign out. Sign in with the new account. You will be switched to the JP store. Search for 'Granblue Fantasy' and download.
Step 5) Open the game, click on the blue 'Start' button (in Japanese by default), then in the next screen, change language option to English!

Uncovered Final Fantasy XV Special Trailer (EU version)

To all you RPG gamers out there - in case you've been lazy on keeping up-to-date on some of the more recent news, check out the newest in a series of Final Fantasy XV releases from Square Enix, including the first episode of the five-installment FFXV anime! We strongly recommend turning closed captions on for the Special Trailer to compliment the incredible Japanese voice acting ^_^ (which like 'Reclaim Your Throne', also features a cover of Stand By Me by Florence + The Machine for some reason.
