This tete de cuvee from Claude Thibaut is benchmark stuff for Virginia (and maybe East Coast) sparkling wine – especially if you prefer richer, oak-aged sparkling wine.

Cheers! Celebrate the season with local sparkling wines - C-VILLE Weekly

Great Selection in the C-VILLE Weekly! Thank you for giving Claude Thibaut credit for his contribution to the success of the Virginia Sparkling Wines.. By Paul Ting [email protected] It’s hard not to love sparkling wine, and consumer trends reflect that: Its sales shot up 51 percent from 2008 to 2017, according to industry statistics. Reflecting the trend locally, Virginia Sparkling Company, an affiliate of Afton’s Veritas Vineyard & Winery, a...

6 Fall Food Pairings with Virginia Wine - Savor Virginia

Thank you Savor Virginia Magazine for mentioning our Virginia Fizz #halloweenpairing #holidayscelebrations

Butternut Squash with Virginia FIZZ
Sparkling wine pairs well with almost anything, but this bottle of Thibaut-Janisson bubbly has found its ideal partner in butternut squash. Whether roasted, puréed, sautéed or toasted, butternut squash is known to lighten and brighten nearly every fall dish. The winter fruit is sweet and slightly nutty, both of which are accentuated by the Crémant-style sip of Virginia FIZZ. The sparkling wine is lush with apple and peach savors, so when paired with squash, you experience an explosion of autumn tastes on the tongue. What better way is there to celebrate October Virginia Wine Month than to cook up a festive fall spread complete with regionally crafted vino? We’ve rounded up the most popular autumn staples and paired them with six handpicked Virginia wines to take your seasonal cuisine to new heights.

We're thrilled to see our Blanc de Noirs on the list Maxwell Park DC. Thank you for supporting our wines. Cheers!

Back to School: 3!
For those of you who skipped class the last two years, “Back to School” is our annual wine list where we pit the well known, more recognized classics against their esoteric counterparts. It’s a great way to get more comfortable with benchmarks and also expand beyond them.
Bust out your number 2 pencils, draw a venn-diagram, and get to comparing and contrasting.

Make mine Virginia wine: 9 bottles that highlight our local bounty - C-VILLE Weekly

Very happy to be part of the selection in the latest issue of Cville Weekly's Wedding Magazine. Cheers! As you’ve no doubt figured out by now, there are heaps of choices when it comes to planning a wedding (including a rehearsal dinner!), but choosing a venue is the most important one. It can dictate so many other things. If you have your sights set on a Virginia winery, be aware that most require ....

Bubbles, like pearls, are always proper. Weddings, anniversaries, new jobs, break-ups, unexpected guests, beginnings, endings, everything, nothing and anything in between pair well with sparkling wine. Why? You ask. Why not? I say. Bubbles remind you that life is short and should be celebrated often. This particular bottle was originally served too cold by yours truly because my wine fridge at the moment is basically a reappropriated college dorm fridge. As the wine warmed up, the flavors emerged: first brioche, then green apple, with hints of vanilla and almond. The bubbles were lively and then creamy. The finish was delicious, lingering and urged you to take another sip. Made in the traditional method, this bottle of Thibaut-Janisson was fresh and zingy, pairing perfectly with a blustery Saturday night in March.

We’ve moved from #NCWineMonth to #VAWineMonth. October is Virginia Wine Month. We’re big fans of Virginia Wine, so we’ll be featuring a few wines this month from our neighbor to the north.

Tonight, it’s the Virginia Xtra Brut from Thibaut-Janisson Winery! 100% Chardonnay, this sparkling wine is a delight. Crisp golden apple and a yeasty undertone pair delighfully with roasted vegetables and grits!

We're very pleased with these beautiful grapes coming from Nelson County, VA. The flavor profile and the juice chemistry is what we want for our Virginia Fizz. Thank you Jennifer Rous

Probably a world record!

The traditionnal way to break" the cake" before pressing again, it's called " une retrousse" in French. Very good way to preserve the quality of the fruit but not so good for your low back😰

Leslie Sbrocco, host of Check, Please! in San Francisco wrote;

When I tasted this, I was convinced it was sparkling wine from France. Complexity coupled with creamy crispness made me think I was sipping a high-end, grower Champagne. Well, that wasn’t too far from the truth. I was simply in the wrong country. This beautiful wine is from Virginia. That’s right…Virginia. A state now ranking high on my list of great wine regions in the United States. This bubbly is crafted by Claude Thibaut and Manuel Janisson, both of whom bring generations of tradition from their homeland of Champagne, France. (I knew Champagne had to figure in somewhere with this gorgeous wine.) Crafted from all chardonnay grapes in the traditional method, it’s a sparkling that deserves accolades.
