It's time for the 92nd Academy Awards. And we are celebrating the All Access Red Carpet Live starting at 5:30 with Nate's beloved wine cocktails! Today we have specials on the "Oscar Spritz" and the "Scorsese Manhattan." Or you can order any one of our other 300 different wines. And if you want to stay for the main show, please see our post on the Oscar Dinner Party tonight. Due to the special event, we will not open till 5 today.
We have a special for today! And if there's any left before the game tomorrow... Nate is feeling sorry for the eventual loss by Kansas City to the 49rs tomorrow. So he's offering the Chief fans an incredible deal. Bidwell Creek - RED AND GOLD RESERVE AT ONLY $50 This wine is made by the Hunts (owners of the Chiefs) at their winery in Knights Valley, Sonoma, CA. Knights Valley first started growing grapes in 1843, before California was even a state. And made by acclaimed winemaker Philippe Melka (he made wine at Chateau Petrus +/- $5,000 a bottle, and is rated as one of 9 of the worlds top wine consultants, named by Robert Parker) Take it home for the game or share it in the bar. We scored 1 case.
Asking for a friend.... How many of you would be interested in a pairing event around this? Leave a comment.

Exciting times, we've added some crazy low retail pricing for some new wines. And we figured out a way to get it to you during the ongoing current event.

first, I need to address the state of affairs. The health and safety of all of our guests and staff has and will be our main priority. Therefore, Destinations Wine Bar is temporarily closing our in-room dining and table side wine service starting tonight March 18.

Yesterday was a hard day for all. I can’t begin to tell you how much work it takes re-configuring our wine bar and restaurant to produce only take out and to do so with the same standards we do for dine in. And doing so while spending all of our time worrying about our people, our team, and our community.

Despite your own needs, fears, and nervousness, many of you have called or emailed to check in and offer support and all of us thank you for that. It is well appreciated and proof that working our tails off this last year to be with people of this amazing community has not only been a privilege, but I hope we can keep doing the same every day and all get through this together.

Effective immediately, we will be introducing a curbside pick-up for food and wine orders.

We continue to pride ourselves on an incredible selection of hard to find wines and Nate has created a specials list at fabulous to go pricing. Of course, the full wine menu continues to be available for curbside pick-up and we offer a 25% discount for any wine on the list. Pending availability and stock on hand.

We have also simplified our take-out food menu. It’s based on all your favorites!

For the next few days, we will limit hours from 4:00 to 7:00 and I ask that you phone your orders in. Please call the main number, 972-363-0177 between 3:30 and 6:30 to place an order.
By all means, if you’re interested in us providing you a lunch option, please let me know and we will open earlier for that opportunity.

Our website has our current full list of wines available and will soon have the specials list and pick up food menu linked to an automated order and payment page. We are signing up with door dash and uber eats, but as you can imagine, their sign-up list is a little long right now.

I am so amazed by the graciousness of this community and the whole team has been honored by your open arms. In the true spirit of sharing wine stories, this too shall pass, and we will celebrate, listen to music, tell stories and share future travel stories as all of our destinations come together.

This is a new day. I’m excited to be planning virtual tastings and virtual classes with wine pairings. I never thought I’d have a to-go business. There are so many opportunities in front of us in the coming weeks. I thank you for sticking with us, being patient and hope you continue to feel the rewards of supporting your independent neighborhood wine bar. In celebration of our first year, I have a 4 month list of events planned and a wine club program around the corner. Timing is everything and I can’t wait to launch the executive dinner program.

Be kind, stay healthy and #WASHYOURHANDS

For all comments or questions, please email me at [email protected]

We thank you for your support and understanding during these difficult times and look forward to when things are “business as usual.” For those of you that have asked, our current permit does not allow us to make deliveries, we are working with a very understanding TABC to expand that during this unique time.

[03/14/20]   The health and safety of our guests and employees is of the utmost importance to us! Finding a responsible approach to minimizing risk during the current health crisis, while continuing to provide great service, is our focus. We wanted to share some of the additional precautions we are taking and also ask everyone who visits to consider voluntary participation in our “Responsibly Social” initiative.

Destinations Wine Bar offers 2 primary seating areas and has an operating kitchen. Due to the highly regulated nature of food preparation, we always maintain the highest level of sanitation and cleanliness in our facility. Among other protocols, our glasses, water pitchers and barware are run through our dishwasher regularly, which also sanitizes as well. Each night, we conduct a stringent cleaning protocol in our dining room and customer facing areas of the facility, using cleaners that meet EPA’s Registered Antimicrobial Products for Use Against Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

To address the current concerns around potential viral transmission, in addition to our already stringent practices, we are instituting the following protocols to help minimize risk to our guests and staff:
- All printed menu covers are being wiped upon return with disinfectant to provide a fresh menu for each patron’s use.
- Our bathrooms are being wiped down with disinfectant throughout the day with special attention to door & toilet handles (high touch surfaces).
- All tables and chairs are being sanitized multiple times during the night.
- Sommeliers are washing hands regularly.
- We are encouraging healthy patrons to continue to come enjoy our wine bar.
- The remainder of our March Special Tasting Events have been postponed

Here is how we are asking our guests to help all of us to remain safe, as part of our Destinations Wine Bar “Responsibly Social” initiative:
- If you’re not feeling well, we recommend you rest and recover! Regardless of your ailment, please help us maintain a safe environment for others to enjoy.
We are open over 300 days a year…there will be plenty of time to come enjoy our great wine and food when you’re feeling better! However, if you want to enjoy your favorite wine off our list, we are instituting a curbside pick-up. Call for details.

- Please consider washing or sanitizing your hands when you arrive, after you use the restroom, and if you should happen to cough or sneeze into your hands.

We believe if we work responsibly together during this period, enjoying all that Destinations Wine Bar has to offer can be a great escape!

We appreciate your support, and your assistance in providing the safest environment for everyone at Destinations Wine Bar, and we will keep you updated about any changes to our operations as we move through this evolving situation together.

Enjoy responsibly and stay safe and healthy!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today we had the opportunity to help make a difference at the fundraiser event for Susan G. Komen at Heritage Ranch.

Did you know that more than 80 cents of every dollar spent by Susan G. Komen goes directly towards research, community-based health programs, education and advocacy programs to support its mission of saving lives and ending breast cancer. It is exactly this combination that has helped lead to a 40% decline in mortality.
