Park Coffee House in Holland Patent kicks off its Winter-Spring 2020 concert season with Cincinnati Creek on Saturday, January 18 at 7:30 PM. This group of seasoned musicians Lori Thompson, Chris Pepe, Gary Dygert, and Cathy Martin entertains with a signature blend of bluegrass, gospel, pop tunes, and original songs. Lori Thompson sings lead and harmony vocals and plays the guitar and mandolin. She also is a prolific songwriter, taking inspiration from friends, family, and history from the Civil War to local events from past decades. Chris Pepe plays banjo for every tune. His fancy picking and good humor, plus some harmony singing are great additions to the group’s appeal. Gary Dygert plays guitar, dobro, and mandolin, plus he sings both lead and harmony vocals. Gary’s talents as a musicologist brings many interesting songs to Cincinnati Creek’s repertoire. Cathy Martin plays the stand up bass, adds fine vocal harmonies, and sings a few solos as well. This multi-talented group member also performs locally with the Generations Community Choir and The Steuben Players. Cincinnati Creek performs a range of acoustic music, including originals by Lori, with upbeat rhythms, three and four part harmonies, and plenty of humor. Don’t miss this warm and lively group. Doors open at 7:00 PM for the 7:30 PM show. Admission is $12.00, $5.00 for students, and no charge for children 12 and younger. Homemade desserts will be available for a donation before the show and during the intermission. The refreshments, including coffee and other beverages, are prepared by Park Coffee House volunteers. Proceeds benefit the food pantry operated by local non-denominational charity Foothills Rural Community Ministry, the parent organization of the coffee house. You’ll find Park Coffee House in the village of Holland Patent, at the historic Twin Churches, just off Main Street (NYS Route 365), across from the park. On February 1, the Park Coffee House season continues with The Usual Suspects
Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers and Wendy Ramsay of Pepper & Sassafras performed at the Park Coffeehouse tonight and helped us celebrate Art Baird’s birthday. Great song, Wendy!
