Rhino's Hometown Pub

Rhino’s Hometown Pub has been the place to eat, drink and have fun since 2002. Although we are located in Plainwell, we have been serving many different areas including Kalamzoo, Grand Rapids and Otsego.

People continue to return to Rhino’s Hometown Pub for the friendly staff, the levels of entertainment and for their quality of food. The pub offers Trivia Nights, Karaoke, Comedy Shows and Live Music. Come in and watch some football on one of our nine big screen TVs and projection screen. We have so much to offer. Our menu includes sandwiches, wraps, pizza, burgers, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos, corn dogs, fries, wings, cheese sticks, fish, chicken, shrimp and so much more!

Operating as usual

[02/06/21]   Rumors, rumors, rumors! Word on the street is that Rhino's has failed, we are closing, the business is shutting down...you get the idea. These rumors started with a real estate listing that someone saw. So here are the facts...Rhino's is for sale, and has been for over a year (long before the pandemic). Phil has plans to retire at some point, and restaurant/pub ownership and retirement make strange bedfellows. If and when Rhino's sells, we will let you know. Until then, rest assured that the business is healthy and we aren't going anywhere! Thanks to our loyal customers!

[01/29/21]   Rhino's is pleased to announce that we will reopen on February 1st!
As you may know we are allowed to reopen on the 1st for dine-in at 25% capacity and 10 pm curfew. Because these restrictions are simply unsustainable if we open “normally”, we are going to open up as follows:

We will provide food carry-out service from 4 pm to 9 pm. Additionally, we want to use the limited seating for those who want to come in and enjoy a cold refreshment and the camaraderie that Rhino's provides. Kyle or Danielle will be there from 3 pm to 10 pm to make that happen. Of course, if you order carry-out and want to eat in at Rhino's, you are welcome to do that, we just won't be providing table service at this time. Please please please come in and support Rhino's, Kyle, and Danielle, they are anxious to see you! Cheers!

[12/26/20]   We get it. You messed up. You were suppose to buy gift cards from Rhino's and then on Christmas eve you realized you forgot. But we have good news, you can still buy them! Clumsily hand them to the gift recipient and say "here is the gift card I forgot to give you on Christmas". It's not too late to give the best gift you can give this year. Just message us here or email "[email protected]" and we can arrange to get them to you!

[12/14/20]   Gift Cards are a GREAT gift, and Rhino's Gift Cards are an even better one! If you want to get Rhino's gift cards before we reopen next week, just send us a message through Facebook or email us at [email protected] and we will accommodate you! Cheers!

[11/17/20]   As the governor continues her assault on the restaurant industry in Michigan, we just wanted you to know that Rhino's will be just fine. However, as we said 8 months ago when we were going to be locked down "for 2 weeks", our business is built on providing a fun and relaxing atmosphere for our customers and not solely for carryout business. So during this current unlawful lockdown, we will be closed. We promise we will see you on December 9th! Have a great Thanksgiving with your families!

[11/16/20]   It’s the Kyle and Kat show tonight!!! Tonight’s food special is a Ham Smackdown, comprised of ham, bacon, Swiss, lettuce, and tomato served on Texas toast. Kyle will also be slinging our newest creation drink, the Apocalypse!

Sometimes you have to start the party early! Stop in at Rhino’s TONIGHT for the world famous Kyle -n- Kat Halloween show / party!

[10/26/20]   This Saturday (October 31st) we will have a Halloween costume contest during karaoke. Prizes will be awarded for funniest costume, scariest costume, and best Rhino-themed costume! Come out and have some fun!

[09/26/20]   A reminder...we have karaoke EVERY SATURDAY starting at 9 pm, and we open at 12:45 EVERY SUNDAY so you can watch the games!

[09/19/20]   A reminder...we have karaoke EVERY SATURDAY starting at 9 pm, and we open at 12:45 EVERY SUNDAY so you can watch the games!

Finally...it’s back! Starting this Saturday and every Saturday at 9 pm, Vic and Sounds Great will be back to help you get your song on! See you Saturday’s with bartender Nic and Karaoke Vic (see what we did there, we rhymed).

[09/12/20]   Rhino's is now OPEN on Sundays at 12:45 pm so that you can watch your favorite NFL teams play! That's right, bartender Nic can't go a Sunday without some football so he will be there to watch the games with you (and serve you some adult beverages at the same time!). See you Sunday!

[09/07/20]   We will be closed Labor Day, Monday September 7th, so that our employees can spend time with their families. We will reopen on Tuesday at our normal time of 3 pm. Cheers!

Sometimes we don't know what to say...

[07/04/20]   Rhino’s Hometown Pub and The Richland Pub will be closed July 4th so that our employees can celebrate our nation with friends and families.

She’s not perfect, but she’s certainly the greatest country on earth! God bless you, and God bless the USA!

[07/01/20]   There are a lot of questions and false information going around the most recent order. Rhino's and The Richland Pub CAN and WILL remain open. So come in and support your local business. Have some dinner and drinks. Having fun is the best revenge!

[06/11/20]   WE. ARE. OPEN!!!!

[06/03/20]   Finally...Rhino's is happy to announce that we will be opening back up for dine-in and carry-out service. We know that we only have one time to get this right the first time, and there are a tremendous number of things that need to be coordinated to do that. So with all that in mind, we will open our doors on Thursday, June 11th, at 3 pm.

We will open at 3 pm each day from June 11th through the 21st, and then plan on returning to our previous normal hours after that.

We need and appreciate your support during this time! Cheers!

[05/25/20]   As Rhino’s sits empty this Memorial Day weekend, the thought of freedom and liberty is even closer to our hearts.

We honor each and every man and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Freedom truly is never free.

"Liberty costs a great price, and one must either resign himself to live without it or decide to pay its price." ~Jose Martinez

[04/21/20]   Health Tip: If you have a cocktail in each hand, you can't accidentally touch your face.

We will return in a few weeks, until then we truly understand the tears!

[03/18/20]   Our business has been built on dine-in customers who enjoy our awesome food and, sometimes, adult beverages.

Due to the ongoing dine-in ban, we have decided to temporarily halt our business until we can operate it in the manner in which it was designed. So effective Wednesday March 18th, we will temporarily halt our carry-out business. We fully expect the ban to be lifted and to have Rhino's, the heart of Plainwell, back up and doing our thing on April 1. And that ain't no joke!

[03/16/20]   Initially you will be able to order food to-go at (269) 685-2220 from 11 am to 8 pm. We will adjust that as necessary to accommodate our customers and demand.

We have seen a number of posts from individuals that remind all of us to support local independent restaurants during this time. There are a handful of us in the area that don't have a dozen locations or aren't a national brand, and so your support is critical during this difficult time. Thanks!

[03/16/20]   YES, WE ARE OPEN!!
Take out number is (269) 685-2220.

As you may have heard, we are prohibited from serving dine-in food in the restaurant but we will continue to be open for carryout. We appreciate your continued support during this time, as we try to manage our business and most importantly try to maintain some sense of stability for our employees.

As you probably know, the restaurant industry is already subject to numerous rules and guidelines to keep the foods we serve you and our restaurant environment safe, and we assure you that we are committed to meeting and exceeding those guidelines for your safety by increasing our cleaning and sanitizing efforts throughout our restaurant.

Please continue to check our page for any updates, and share this with as many people as you can. Thank you!

[03/13/20]   Where can you get the most delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner for St. Patty's Day? Rhino's, of course. Carrying on the tradition we started several years ago, we have been busy slow-cooking corned beef and prepping cabbage, carrots, and red skin potatoes just for you.

This year, we will be serving this dinner on Saturday (March 14th) and Tuesday (March 17th). Over the past few years we have cooked more each year and the demand continues to grow, so make sure you stop in to get yours before we run out!

A fantastic comedy show with Jerry Donovan, Richard Mathis, and Dave Landau last night as we kicked off our annual anniversary comedy shows. It’s not too late to get in on the fun, next Thursday 3/19 we have Bob Jay and the following Thursday 3/25 we have Vince Carone. Tickets are still available!
